    AI Analysis

    Comprehensive evaluation of the token

ApeCoin (APE) demonstrates a fully unlocked 1,000,000,000 token supply with fixed tokenomics and functional utility across DAO governance and ApeChain gas. However, overall ecosystem fundamentals show sustained decline. Active development is in a maintenance-mode state, characterized by dormant core repository activity and third-party integrations. Community engagement metrics and verifiable governance turnout data are subdued. Market performance has experienced an unrecovered ~99.5% drawdown from all-time highs, accompanied by a structural shift toward centralized decision-making under ApeCo via AIP-596 and transparency gaps in team leadership. Security analysis notes an absence of verifiable third-party audit reports and an airdrop claim exploit from March 2022. No qualifying active red-flag events mandate a separate cap, and the overall score reflects the exact weighted average across all six evaluated sections.

    About ApeCoin (APE)

ApeCoin (APE) is an ERC-20 utility and governance token created for the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and Yuga Labs ecosystem on the Ethereum blockchain. It operates with a hard-capped total supply of 1,000,000,000 tokens, which are fully unlocked following the completion of its vesting schedule. APE serves multiple roles across the ecosystem, functioning as the native gas token for ApeChain with a burn mechanism, the primary currency for the Otherside metaverse, and a tool for token-gated access.

Governance of the token was originally structured around the ApeCoin DAO, allowing token holders to vote on proposals. However, the governance framework underwent structural changes following the adoption of proposal AIP-596, which centralized strategic decision-making under an entity named ApeCo. The project exhibits transparency gaps regarding current leadership and team credentials, including broken public team documentation, while development metrics indicate a maintenance-mode posture with limited activity across core repositories.

Security and market performance have encountered notable issues since inception. During the token's March 2022 launch, an attacker exploited the airdrop claim design using an NFTX flash loan to claim 60,564 APE fraudulently, resulting in reported losses of millions of dollars, though the underlying token contract itself was not breached. Furthermore, no verified third-party security audits for the token contract are publicly documented. Economically, APE has experienced an unrecovered price decline of approximately 99.5% from its all-time high amid broader contractions in NFT floor prices and subdued metaverse adoption.
