Comprehensive evaluation of the token
Numbers Protocol (NUM) offers a blockchain-backed digital provenance infrastructure with an experienced, publicly known team and a solid CertiK Skynet rating (79.21 BBB). However, the project faces multiple fundamental challenges across its ecosystem. While development activity continues at an operational level, official roadmaps have been stale since 2023 and GitHub engineering metrics are not transparent. Community and governance activity show significant staleness, with low organic engagement. From a tokenomics and market standpoint, despite minimal upcoming supply dilution (~98.9% circulating), NUM lacks clear value-accrual sinks because platform fees and settlements rely heavily on stablecoins rather than the native token. Combined with negligible TVL ($704), low daily trading volume (~$150K), and a severe unrecovered drawdown exceeding 99% from all-time highs, organic demand remains extremely weak. On the security front, there have been no on-chain smart contract exploits or protocol failures, though an operational compromise of its official social media account occurred in July 2025. No qualifying red-flag events requiring score capping were established, and all sections had sufficient data for scoring.

About Numbers Protocol (NUM)
Numbers Protocol (NUM) is a digital media provenance infrastructure project founded in 2019 in Taiwan by Bofu Chen and Tammy Yang. The protocol provides cryptographic verification and traceable credentials for digital assets and media content, utilizing the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) standard. The NUM token operates within its native mainnet ecosystem and maintains token contracts deployed on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain.
The project incorporates a governance structure through NumbersDAO, which allows token holders to stake, vote, and participate in validator delegation using a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) model. NUM has a fixed total supply of 1 billion tokens, with approximately 98.9% of the supply in circulation. While NUM is used for staking and collateral within the network, platform transaction fees and revenue settlements primarily rely on stablecoins, limiting native value capture from protocol activity.
Numbers Protocol has encountered notable market and operational challenges. The token has experienced a price drawdown of over 99% from its all-time high and exhibits low on-chain liquidity, with total value locked recorded at negligible levels ($704). While no smart contract exploits or losses of on-chain protocol funds have been identified, the project experienced an operational security incident on July 20, 2025, when its official X (formerly Twitter) account was compromised and used to post unauthorized airdrop scam links. Additionally, community engagement has waned, and the official development roadmap has not been updated since 2023.
