Comprehensive evaluation of the token
Chromia (CHR) is a relational layer-1 blockchain platform built by ChromaWay that combines relational database architecture with blockchain infrastructure, actively targeting decentralized AI and on-chain database use cases. Active development is a clear strength (7.0/10), evidenced by network upgrades such as the Asgard expansion, on-chain AI milestones, and native mainnet integration with Binance. Team and governance fundamentals are respectable (6.5/10) under public leadership with an unblemished operational record free of exploits, hacks, or regulatory actions. However, these technical achievements are counterbalanced by significant weaknesses: community engagement is thin (4.0/10) with limited decentralized governance participation; tokenomics (5.5/10) suffer from missing circulating supply and vesting schedule transparency; and market traction (4.5/10) is constrained by a sub-$20M market cap, thin liquidity, and a steep drawdown from previous highs. Additionally, security and audit history (4.5/10) reflects a clean historical track record but lacks public, verifiable third-party smart contract audits for its core runtime and bridge infrastructure. No qualifying red-flag events were established.

About Chromia (CHR)
Chromia (CHR) is a relational Layer-1 blockchain platform developed by Swedish company ChromaWay AB, which was founded in 2014 under the leadership of CEO Or Perelman. The network combines relational database architecture with blockchain infrastructure using its custom programming language, Rell. Chromia's core technical focus includes decentralized artificial intelligence infrastructure, on-chain vector databases, and on-chain AI inference. The platform launched its native mainnet in July 2024, while CHR also circulates as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and a BEP-20 token on BNB Smart Chain.
The CHR token has a total supply of 1 billion and serves multiple network functions, including paying for system resources, compensating independent node providers, facilitating ecosystem settlement, and securing the network through staking via the Chromia Vault. Chromia operates a resource model where decentralized applications can sponsor transaction costs on behalf of end users, meaning end users do not necessarily need to hold CHR to interact with network applications. Development milestones have included the Asgard network upgrade in late 2024, an on-chain AI model update in mid-2025, and direct native mainnet deposit and withdrawal integration with Binance.
While Chromia has maintained an operational history free of reported hacks, smart contract exploits, or regulatory enforcement actions, the project faces several market and structural challenges. CHR has experienced a substantial market decline, trading roughly 99% below its all-time high alongside a market capitalization under $20 million and subdued trading liquidity. Additionally, evaluation sources note an absence of publicly verifiable third-party security audits for the core chain, Rell runtime, and bridge contracts, as well as data gaps regarding circulating supply metrics and vesting schedules.
