    AI Analysis

    Comprehensive evaluation of the token

Zclassic (ZCL) is an essentially defunct and abandoned Proof-of-Work fork of Zcash launched in 2016. Active Development and Community Support sections both returned insufficient data due to complete dormancy, dead social channels, an offline block explorer, and an unmaintained GitHub presence since the team shifted focus to Bitcoin Private in 2018. Tokenomics scored 3.5/10 due to a fixed maximum supply of ~11.46M without insider pre-mines, but it suffers from negligible utility and lack of sustainable demand. Market and Use Case (2.0/10) reflects near-zero liquidity, a market cap under $2.2M, and an unrecovered drawdown exceeding 99.9% from its all-time high. Team and Governance (2.0/10) notes frozen documentation, reliance on defunct exchanges, and the total absence of operational governance. Security and Audit History (2.0/10) highlights the lack of independent audits, past unpatched exposure to CVE-2019-7167 (zk-SNARK counterfeit bug inherited from Zcash), and no ongoing security maintenance. With two sections excluded due to data gaps, the weighted score across the remaining sections is 2.5/10.

    About Zclassic (ZCL)

Zclassic (ZCL) is an abandoned cryptocurrency that ceased active development after its team forked the project to create Bitcoin Private in 2018. Launched on November 6, 2016, by founder Rhett Creighton as a Proof-of-Work fork of Zcash utilizing the Equihash algorithm, Zclassic was created to eliminate Zcash's 20% Founders' Reward developer fee and remove the initial "slow start" mining mechanism, allowing miners to earn the full block reward on an independent blockchain.

The tokenomics of Zclassic feature a fixed maximum supply of 11,462,487 ZCL, with roughly 90% (~10.34 million ZCL) already mined and in circulation. The network was launched without a pre-mine, pre-sale, or insider vesting allocations. The asset functions strictly as a peer-to-peer transferable currency utilizing zero-knowledge cryptography, lacking secondary protocol-level utilities, fee-capture mechanisms, or staking.

The project is effectively defunct, characterized by an unmaintained GitHub repository, an offline block explorer, and absent community and governance structures following the failure to implement a proposed 2017 Board of Zclassic Stakeholders. ZCL has suffered a price collapse exceeding 99.9% from its all-time high of $248.73 and maintains near-zero trading liquidity, with legacy documentation still referencing defunct exchanges like Cryptopia and TradeSatoshi. Additionally, Zclassic never commissioned dedicated third-party security audits and was subject to CVE-2019-7167, a cryptographic counterfeit vulnerability in its inherited Sprout zk-SNARK parameters, though no documented exploitation of network funds occurred.
