Ycash

Ycash (YEC) presents a mixed profile of high technical integrity versus low market relevance. As a 'friendly fork' of Zcash, it benefits from a robust privacy codebase and a fair, Bitcoin-like distribution model without an ICO. The project is genuinely maintained, evidenced by the recent 'Doubling Down on Decentralization' upgrade and the high-quality YWallet infrastructure. However, the project is fragile due to extreme centralization in development, relying heavily on just one or two key individuals (a Bus Factor of ~1-2). While the community is authentic and virtually free of artificial hype, it is very small, resulting in thin liquidity and negligible broader market adoption. The tokenomics are sound in structure (deflationary, capped supply) but lack the demand drivers necessary to build value in a saturated privacy coin market dominated by Monero and Zcash. Security is largely inherited from Zcash upstream rather than independently audited for Ycash-specific divergences. Consequently, YEC is a functional, honest project that struggles to find a compelling growth narrative.
