    AI Analysis

    Comprehensive evaluation of the token

WHBAR (Wrapped HBAR) serves as the canonical 1:1 HTS-wrapped HBAR token within the SaucerSwap ecosystem on Hedera, solving the smart contract compatibility limitations of native HBAR. The token benefits from the continuous development, documentation, and auditing of its parent protocol SaucerSwap Labs (including audits from Hacken, Omniscia, and Halborn). Tokenomics are strictly 1:1 backed via mint/burn operations, though governance is indirect, residing entirely at the SaucerSwap DAO level (SAUCE/xSAUCE). On the security and risk front, WHBAR carries an active security advisory published in December 2025 regarding non-atomic allowances, though retail users were reported unaffected and no confirmed loss figure was established. Additionally, an external $9.05M exploit on Bonzo Lend in July 2026 created ecosystem-wide TVL headwinds but was not an exploit of the WHBAR contract. No qualifying red-flag event triggers an overall cap, resulting in a calculated weighted average score of 6.33/10.

    About Wrapped HBAR (SaucerSwap) (WHBAR)

Wrapped HBAR (WHBAR) is a tokenized version of native HBAR issued by SaucerSwap on the Hedera network using the Hedera Token Service (HTS). Because native HBAR cannot directly interact with smart contracts on the network, WHBAR provides a 1:1 fully collateralized mint and burn mechanism where tokens are created or redeemed directly against deposited HBAR. It functions as a standard quote and trading asset across decentralized finance protocols within the Hedera network.

WHBAR does not operate with standalone token governance; administrative and governance decisions are managed at the protocol level by the SaucerSwap DAO through SAUCE and xSAUCE holders. While the wrapper contract itself is designed to remain static, the broader SaucerSwap protocol is maintained by SaucerSwap Labs, which has received backing from The HBAR Foundation. The parent protocol has undergone smart contract evaluations by security firms including Hacken, Omniscia, and Halborn.

The token is subject to specific technical risks and broader market drawdowns. In December 2025, SaucerSwap published a security advisory detailing a contract-level vulnerability originating from a 2023 network update, which posed a risk of fund loss for accounts utilizing non-atomic allowances directly, though retail users on SaucerSwap and Bonzo Finance were reported unaffected. Mitigations included a newly deployed audited contract and the WhbarHelper contract. In addition, WHBAR experienced an 80.30% drawdown from its all-time high of $0.3987, reflecting the broader market depreciation of native HBAR rather than a depeg, and faced ecosystem headwinds following a $9.05 million exploit on the independent Bonzo Lend protocol in July 2026.
