Comprehensive evaluation of the token
TrueFi (TRU) is a legacy decentralized uncollateralized lending protocol that is currently undergoing deprecation and migration. Per governance proposal TFIP-41, the protocol has transitioned to a successor ecosystem token (BRLA / Brila), and the migration swap deadline (May 10, 2026) has already passed. Active Development and Community Support sections both returned insufficient data (-1.0) as active development and community focus have entirely moved away from TRU to successor products. Tokenomics (2.5/10) and Market and Use Case (2.5/10) reflect severe liquidity contraction, high insider distribution (~60%), and an over 99.9% decline from all-time highs with negligible trading volume and multiple exchange delistings (e.g., Binance, Gemini). Team and Governance (3.5/10) has suffered significant core contributor departures following contested votes and opaque shadow-delegate governance dynamics. Security and Audit History (6.0/10) shows reputable historical audits from ChainSecurity with no confirmed smart contract exploits specific to TrueFi (noting that the January 2026 exploit affected Truebit, an unrelated protocol sharing the TRU ticker). Because TRU has been formally deprecated and migrated to Brila, exposure to the legacy token should be avoided.

About TrueFi (TRU)
TrueFi (TRU) is a deprecated token that migrated to the successor ecosystem token Brila (BRLA) following the execution of governance proposal TFIP-41 in March 2026. Originally launched in November 2020 on Ethereum by TrustToken (founded by Rafael Cosman), TrueFi operated as an uncollateralized lending protocol designed to allow institutional borrowers to obtain on-chain credit while TRU holders participated in risk backstopping and DAO governance.
TRU is an ERC-20 token with a hard supply cap of 1.5 billion tokens, with approximately 60% initially allocated to insiders. Emissions and vesting schedules have concluded. The protocol underwent third-party security audits by ChainSecurity for components such as the TrueFi Fluorine contracts and Archblock Portfolio Debt Token, which identified complexity and specific attack vectors that required structural safeguards. A separate January 2026 exploit involving a protocol sharing the TRU ticker (Truebit) did not affect TrueFi.
TrueFi experienced severe operational and market challenges leading to its deprecation. In mid-2024, the core contributor team departed following a contested governance vote decided by an opaque shadow delegate wallet, necessitating subsequent procedural restoration via TFIP-16. TRU also suffered an over 99.9% price decline from its August 2021 all-time high of roughly $1.02–$1.04, alongside delistings from exchanges including Binance and Gemini, and liquidations on platforms such as Wealthsimple. Following the passage of TFIP-41 and the expiration of the May 2026 token swap window, active development and community operations for TRU have ceased in favor of the successor protocol.
