Songbird (SGB) is the native token of the Songbird Network, an EVM-based Layer 1 blockchain that functions as the live canary network for the Flare ecosystem. Launched in September 2021 by Flare co-founders Hugo Philion, Sean Rowan, and Naïri Usher, Songbird serves as a real-value testing environment for core protocols, such as Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO) modifications and F-Assets, prior to their deployment on the Flare mainnet.
