Comprehensive evaluation of the token
Reservoir rUSD (RUSD) is an elastic-supply stablecoin deployed across multiple chains within the Reservoir Protocol. Active development is relatively solid (7.5/10), evidenced by cross-chain expansion, integrations with Morpho and Steakhouse, and new product offerings such as srUSD. However, the token exhibits major weaknesses across other key dimensions: community presence is extremely low (2.0/10) with negligible on-chain holders and no active public DAO discourse; tokenomics (5.0/10) and market metrics (4.5/10) suffer from severe liquidity constraints, virtually zero daily trading volume, and historical peg instability; and security (5.0/10) is constrained by conflicting audit coverage, high-severity role centralizations (including single-EOA controls and unassignable pause controls), despite an exploit-free track record.
Data Gap Note: The Team and Governance section scored -1.0 due to insufficient public data and high search noise, so its 15% weight was redistributed proportionally among the remaining categories. No qualifying red-flag events were established.

About Reservoir rUSD (RUSD)
Reservoir rUSD (RUSD) is an elastic-supply, USD-pegged stablecoin developed by the Reservoir Protocol. Operating across roughly 15 blockchain networks—including Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Berachain, Sonic, Avalanche, BNB Smart Chain, and Solana—rUSD functions as a non-yielding base asset intended to back Reservoir's savings products, such as srUSD. The stablecoin operates on a mint and redeem mechanism backed by digital assets and real-world assets (RWAs) with proof-of-reserves mechanisms, designed for 1:1 redeemability against assets such as USDC, USDT, and USD1.
The protocol has integrated with decentralized lending infrastructure, including Morpho and Steakhouse vaults, and has expanded its multi-chain deployment footprint. The project has also documented completed audits by Halborn covering its protocol smart contracts, Morpho lending markets, and cross-chain bridging infrastructure.
Despite these integrations, RUSD faces notable operational, security, and market risks. The token has exhibited a history of peg instability, with historical price extremes recorded at $0.86 and $2.02, alongside severely constrained liquidity and near-zero daily trading volume across platforms. Independent security reviews have highlighted centralization vulnerabilities, including a single externally owned account (EOA) functioning as an admin key, an unassignable pause supervisor role on its Peg Stability Module, and unresolved discrepancies regarding audit coverage for core protocol contracts. Additionally, public data regarding team identity and DAO governance remains minimal.
