    AI Analysis

    Comprehensive evaluation of the token

RSWETH (Restaked Swell ETH) receives an overall score of 5.0, synthesized from available section evaluations. Note on data gap: Active Development lacked sufficient data (-1.0) due to protocol wind-down and migration, so its 20% weight was proportionally redistributed across remaining sections. While Swell Labs maintains a reputable, audited codebase (Sigma Prime, Cyfrin, Mixbytes) and a public founding team, RSWETH faces severe headwinds. Swellchain is being sunset with a mandatory withdrawal deadline of June 15, 2026, and the project is pivoting/rebranding towards a new platform named Faro. Furthermore, RSWETH features minimal community engagement, zero governance rights for derivative holders, and low liquidity in a saturated liquid restaking market. Under the deprecated/migrated token rule, the active migration and ecosystem wind-down warrant an Avoid recommendation.

    About Restaked Swell ETH (RSWETH)

Restaked Swell ETH (RSWETH) is a liquid restaking token issued by Swell Network that is undergoing an ecosystem wind-down and migration phase amid the sunsetting of Swellchain and a strategic pivot toward a new platform named Faro. Developed by Sydney-based Swell Labs and co-founded in 2021 by Daniel Dizon and Lecky Lao, RSWETH functions as an elastic receipt-style ERC-20 token deployed on Ethereum and networks such as Arbitrum One, Scroll, Berachain, Zircuit, and Swellchain. The token was designed to enable users to restake ETH into protocols including EigenLayer and Symbiotic to capture restaking yields while retaining secondary liquidity.

Governance across the Swell ecosystem is coordinated through the Swell DAO via the SWELL token using off-chain Snapshot voting, supported by a Liquid Restaking Council. RSWETH itself is a non-governance derivative token, providing holders with no direct voting rights over protocol parameters or DAO proposals. The protocol's smart contracts have undergone audits by firms including Sigma Prime, Cyfrin, Mixbytes, Hexens, and TOP, alongside an active bug bounty program on Immunefi.

RSWETH faces operational and structural risks tied to the protocol's transition. Swell announced that Swellchain is being sunset, establishing a mandatory deadline of June 15, 2026, for users to withdraw all assets before remaining balances on the chain become permanently inaccessible. Concurrently, the project is shifting its focus to the Faro platform, primary community analytics dashboards have been marked as unmaintained, and RSWETH experiences constrained liquidity, low daily trading volumes, and zero holder governance participation in a saturated liquid restaking market.
