    AI Analysis

    Comprehensive evaluation of the token

PEPE achieves a weighted score of 3.15/10 across evaluated categories. The project benefits from strong community presence, deep market liquidity, over 580,000 holders, and a fully unlocked fixed supply of 420.69 trillion tokens without transaction taxes. However, PEPE exhibits structural weaknesses typical of pure meme tokens, including zero active technical development, an immutable contract lacking ongoing utility, and absent formal governance. Its profile is severely impaired by critical operational security failures and governance risks, including an August 2023 insider theft where rogue team members drained approximately $15 million (16 trillion PEPE) after altering multisig thresholds, as well as a December 2025 official website compromise serving wallet-draining code. With supply concentration remaining high and value driven exclusively by speculative social sentiment, the token carries extreme risk.

    About Pepe (PEPE)

PEPE (Pepe) is a frog-themed meme token deployed on the Ethereum blockchain as an ERC-20 token in April 2023. The project launched with an immutable smart contract, no transaction taxes, and a fixed supply of 420.69 trillion tokens that were 100% unlocked at genesis. PEPE does not possess native utility, technical roadmaps, or underlying problem-solving mechanisms, functioning entirely as an entertainment and speculative trading asset driven by social sentiment.

Because the smart contract was renounced and lacks active software development or a formal decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), the project operates without formal governance or ongoing technical maintenance. PEPE maintains a large base of over 580,000 token holders and substantial trading volume across secondary markets, though token distribution remains heavily concentrated, with the top 100 addresses holding approximately 77.43% of the total supply.

The project has experienced significant operational security breaches, insider theft, and severe market volatility. Shortly after launch in April 2023, an exploit drained approximately $95,000 alongside a compromise of the project's Telegram channel. In August 2023, rogue former team members modified the project's multi-signature wallet threshold and stole 16 trillion PEPE tokens—valued at approximately $15 million at the time—which were subsequently sold on the open market. In December 2025, security firm Blockaid identified that the official PEPE website was compromised to serve malicious drainer code targeting user wallets. In addition to these security incidents, the token has suffered severe price depreciation, falling more than 75% over a trailing 12-month period and trading well below its all-time high.
