Comprehensive evaluation of the token
Gnosis (GNO) demonstrates solid multi-product infrastructure fundamentals, continuous active development across protocol and product layers (including Pectra and Circles v2), and an established on-chain governance framework. Tokenomics benefit from a substantially reduced supply via historical vault burns, though staking dynamics and liquidity constraints remain factors. The ecosystem's major headwind is security execution: recent smart-contract incidents, notably the June 2026 Gnosis Pay Delay Module exploit (~$1.8M in losses), exposed dependency audit gaps, although the leadership team demonstrated transparency and remediation by committing to cover affected user losses. Because the recent exploit was remediated and fell below the $10M threshold for remediated red-flag events, the red-flag cap is not triggered. The overall score of 6.0 directly reflects the weighted average across all six fully evaluated sections.

About Gnosis (GNO)
Gnosis (GNO) is an ERC-20 governance and staking token for the Gnosis ecosystem and Gnosis Chain. Gnosis operates as an infrastructure and decentralized application ecosystem that encompasses Gnosis Chain, Safe multi-signature wallet infrastructure, Gnosis Pay, prediction market protocols, and Circles v2. The GNO token is used to provide Proof-of-Stake consensus security on Gnosis Chain and to participate in governance decisions directed by GnosisDAO.
The tokenomics of GNO were altered in April 2022 following a GnosisDAO governance proposal that burned the majority of its uncirculating vault supply, decreasing the total supply from 10 million to approximately 3 million tokens. Ecosystem development involves regular protocol upgrades, such as the Pectra network upgrade and integrations involving the ZCHF stablecoin, alongside ecosystem tools like the Safe Watch Agent.
The ecosystem has experienced several security breaches and organizational headwinds. In December 2025, a $9.4 million incident necessitated a Balancer Recovery hard fork. In May 2026, an exploit involving Zodiac Roles and Delay Modifiers resulted in reported losses between $3.0 million and $3.2 million across 86 wallets. Shortly thereafter, in June 2026, an exploit of the Gnosis Pay Delay Module led to approximately $1.8 million in losses across 5,281 wallets due to external dependency audit gaps and late-applied signature patches. Project leadership pledged to cover affected user losses and issued a remediation plan. Additional challenges include organizational restructuring, the sunsetting of Gnosis Ltd's Business unit, thin market liquidity, and governance disputes.
