Comprehensive evaluation of the token
EVMOS reflects a project in severe market and developmental stagnation. While the project retains a legitimate foundation—led by a public team with structured on-chain governance (scoring 7.0/10) and a decentralized genesis design (scoring 5.0/10)—operational momentum has deteriorated significantly. Active development (2.5/10) has stalled on the native repository since mid-2024 as focus appears to have pivoted elsewhere. The community and holder base (2.5/10) exhibit quiet engagement and distress on bridged assets. In terms of security (4.0/10), although the team responsibly discloses and patches issues, the codebase has suffered from numerous published vulnerabilities, including a 2022 authentication flaw and multiple 2024 vesting-bypass advisories, without recognized third-party audits of core chain code. Finally, the market profile (1.5/10) shows near-terminal liquidity conditions, trading down >99.9% from all-time highs with negligible daily volume ($0.24 to $195), rendering the asset virtually untradeable.

About Evmos (EVMOS)
Evmos (EVMOS) is the native staking and governance token of the Evmos network, a Cosmos SDK-based, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain. The network was created to enable Ethereum Virtual Machine execution, allowing smart contracts written in Solidity or Vyper to run natively with Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) interoperability across the Cosmos ecosystem. Evmos was developed by Tharsis Labs, led by founder Federico Kunze Küllmer, following initial funding from Cosmos Hub Proposition 44 in April 2021.
The EVMOS token features a decentralized genesis distribution without a premined token sale. While it initially implemented a high-inflation incentive model, token emissions have shifted toward near-zero or negative issuance. On-chain governance operates through the Cosmos SDK governance module alongside documented DAO workstream frameworks. However, core development on the native repository has stalled, with the latest tagged release dated July 2024 (v19.0.0) as engineering efforts have largely pivoted toward a successor stack.
The token has experienced severe market and liquidity distress, falling over 99.9% from its all-time high of $6.84 to nano-cap valuation ranges with negligible daily trading volumes. From a security standpoint, the core chain code lacks verified third-party audits. While the team maintains a vulnerability disclosure process and an Immunefi bug bounty program, the codebase has accumulated numerous published vulnerabilities. These include CVE-2022-24738, a critical flaw prior to version 2.0.1 that allowed unauthorized draining of unclaimed funds, alongside multiple 2024 advisories involving vesting-module bypasses, fee expropriation, and denial-of-service risks that required patching.
