The core codebase has seen no substantial updates in over 18 months, creating a worrying disconnect between the recently updated 'roadmap' documents and actual engineering execution. Furthermore, the history of 51% attacks and the complete absence of formal audits for its custom storage logic present severe security risks. While the project addresses a valid use case (decentralized hosting), it faces insurmountable competition from industry giants like Filecoin and Flux. Currently, ETHO relies on a small, niche community of node operators rather than broad market adoption.
