Comprehensive evaluation of the token
DeFiChain (DFI) presents a severely impaired market profile across nearly all fundamental pillars. While the project benefits from a known founding team, a capped maximum supply of 1.2 billion tokens, and historical audits from SlowMist and Knownsec (2020), it has experienced catastrophic demand-side contraction. Development activity is reduced to maintenance-mode peg defense and pool housekeeping with no major feature releases or audits recorded recently. Liquidity and community activity are nearly non-existent, with 24-hour trading volume falling to roughly $100-$500 and market capitalization dropping below $1 million alongside a >99.9% price collapse from historical highs. No qualifying security exploits, regulatory enforcement actions, or fraudulent activities were affirmatively identified, but severe liquidity evaporation and dormancy warrant extreme caution. The overall score is calculated as the weighted average across all six complete sections.

About DeFiChain (DFI)
DeFiChain (DFI) is the native cryptocurrency of DeFiChain, a dedicated blockchain platform designed to bring decentralized finance functionalities to the Bitcoin ecosystem. Founded in 2020 by Julian Hosp and Chua Uzyn, the project was established to provide decentralized financial services, including lending, borrowing, and token wrapping. DFI serves as the primary utility asset across the network, used for transaction fees, governance participation, collateralization, and masternode operation. The token features a fixed maximum supply of 1.2 billion units, with wrapped versions deployed on Ethereum (ERC-20) and Binance Smart Chain (BEP-20).
The protocol underwent third-party security audits in 2020 by SlowMist and Knownsec, which reviewed its initial codebase versions. Governance has progressively moved toward community control over official communication channels and social platforms. However, development activity has shifted largely into a maintenance mode, with technical proposals in late 2024 focusing primarily on internal housekeeping, operational funding, pool deprecation, and peg defense rather than the release of major protocol upgrades or new feature deployments.
DFI has experienced severe market contraction and liquidity decline. The token suffered a price collapse of over 99.9% from its historical all-time high of $5.61 to approximately $0.0021, accompanied by a drop in total market capitalization and extremely low 24-hour trading volumes. Additional risks identified include dormant community engagement, the absence of recent security re-audits, and token distribution concentration, with 51% of the total supply allocated over time to masternode operators.
