Comprehensive evaluation of the token
ANIME (Anime Bitcoin / Animecoin) demonstrates severe operational and market distress across all evaluated criteria. The project exhibits virtually stalled development with closed-source repositories, no public code telemetry, and an absence of published independent security audits. On-chain community participation has collapsed by ~97% down to roughly 3,100 holders, with functionally dormant social and governance engagement. The token economy suffers from lack of verifiable on-chain timelocks for insider allocations, derivative/margin delistings on major exchanges, and an unrecovered ~98.7% price drawdown from its January 2025 all-time high. Market liquidity is negligible with minimal trading volume, while governance remains centralized around foundation entities with aspirational voting models and lingering leadership controversies. The overall score of 2.0 is calculated directly as the weighted average of the six individual section evaluations (Active Development: 1.0, Community Support: 1.0, Tokenomics: 3.5, Market and Use Case: 1.0, Team and Governance: 3.5, Security and Audit History: 2.0).

About Anime Bitcoin (ANIME)
ANIME (Anime Bitcoin) is a cryptocurrency token created in January 2025 by the Animecoin Foundation, Chiru Labs (creators of the Azuki NFT collection), and the Arbitrum Foundation. Deployed on both Ethereum and Arbitrum One, the token was introduced as the governance and cultural asset for the ecosystem, with planned integration into AnimeChain, an Arbitrum Orbit Layer-3 network. The token model features a fixed total supply of 10 billion tokens, with 50.5% allocated to community incentives and initial distribution supported by an Azuki-holder airdrop and launch programs.
The project operates under a governance model centered around the Animecoin Foundation and AnimeDAO, intended to support token-holder voting. The token is designed for network participation and targeted utility initiatives, such as the March 2026 'Gate #0' event. However, technical development is maintained within closed-source repositories without public version-control telemetry, and the smart contracts lack published, full-scope independent security audits as well as verifiable on-chain timelocks for non-community allocations.
Following its January 24, 2025 all-time high of approximately $0.1861, ANIME experienced an unrecovered price drawdown of approximately 98.7%, alongside derivative and margin delistings on exchanges including Coinbase and KuCoin. The project has also experienced severe contraction in participation, with holder counts collapsing by roughly 97% to approximately 3,100 holders and trading volume remaining minimal. Furthermore, market confidence has been impacted by leadership controversies associated with Chiru Labs founder Alex Xu (Zagabond), including prior project abandonments and backlash surrounding the 2023 Azuki Elementals release.
